OVERVIEW

Health Apps were at the heart of what Forward was trying to do. It was the notion that there could be an ecosystem of “apps” that users could download and engage with, just like on their smartphone. There could be a Diabetes App, Skin Cancer App, Marathon App etc. And this ecosystem would be available to 3rd party “developers” who could build apps of their own on top of our infrastructure of Care Stations.

the PROBLEM

Our team provided a UX/UI guide that aligned to the goals of the project. I used those findings to build wireframes that catered to our two personas representing wine and beer drinkers. The brand tone was already established by the parent brand, KyProud, as well as the Drink KY logo, so I referenced this to extend the color palette and create new branded elements.

the process

Global design elements for Drink KY UI, showing buttons, filtering, progress bars, form fields, and navigation.
Drink KY typography styling, featuring Halis R Black and Nunito Sans Regular.
Drink KY color palette, showing the colors and their corresponding names. White is Blanc, Red is Pinot, Blue is Syrah, Black is Merlot, Tan is Chardonnay, Green is Vihno Verde.
Drink KY marketing site screens, showing the 2020 Commissioner's Cup Winners for various wine categories.
App screens for Drink KY app, showing the profile page, the mile radius filtering capabilities, and the notes page.

Reflection

This client was extremely collaborative, and worked with us through multiple Figma workshops to solve problems and review work. The app was built with map integrations, location services, account management, a rewards dashboard, and more. Our team also built a marketing site to pair with the app experience to further educate users and drive traffic to app downloads, since the original app was going to be removed from all app stores.

We are currently working toward a second phase to integrate post-launch findings and incorporate more social media functionalities such as following friends, sharing notes as posts, and a social feed.
